About
Mercedes-AMG created this touring car in its early years. The 300 SEL 6.3 was already quick, but AMG bored the engine out to 6.8 liters and re-tuned it, raising output from 246.5 HP to 422.1 HP. At the 1971 24 Hours of Spa, it took 1st in class and 2nd overall—an early showcase of AMG’s racing pedigree.
