About
Originally introduced as a variant of the Celica, the XX evolved into a standalone model in February 1986 with the debut of the Supra. Among its various trim levels, the most celebrated was the high-performance 3.0GT Turbo A—built for championship homologation—featuring the turbocharged 3.0-liter 7M-GTEU engine, producing 266.3 HP. It also featured a wider body, matching the North American specification at 68.7 inches, along with reinforced suspension.
