About

The original GT350R was developed for race competition in 1965, based on the original Mustang. The 2016 Shelby GT350R was similarly based on the seventh generation Mustang, with the engine tuned to 525.6 HP. The chassis components supporting the engine performance were also upgraded, resulting in a car that was fit to go to the circuit straight from the factory.
