About
The Japanese Super Formula series transitioned to the Dallara SF19 chassis in 2019. Equipped with a halo system that met F1 safety standards, the SF19 also featured aerodynamic enhancements over its predecessor, the SF14, making overtaking easier and improving race action. Power came from a turbocharged 2.0-liter direct-injection inline-4, with separate versions independently developed by Toyota and Honda. Despite tight regulations, a fierce development battle unfolded between the two manufacturers.
