About
The Renault 4 (Quatre), introduced in 1961, was designed to replace the best-selling 4CV. By 1978, the car reached its full potential with the GTL variant. This model added a plastic grille, a more powerful 1.1-liter engine, and a modernized instrument panel. Amassing more than 8.1 million units by the end of its production in 1992, the Renault 4 became a French cultural icon.
