About
The Avantime was a specialty car penned by Patrick Le Quément of Renault Design. Its distinctive body blended the proven underpinnings of the third-generation Espace, a favorite across Europe, with a striking three-door fiberglass shell. Although coupe-like in silhouette, what set the Avantime apart were its B-pillarless side windows and large sunroof, which could be opened. A pure expression of Renault’s design philosophy, the Avantime was proof that the monoform concept need not be limited to minivans.
