About
The R34 GT-R was unveiled in January 1999. In contrast to the larger R33, the new model adopted a more compact, muscular profile—3.0 inches shorter in overall length with a wheelbase reduced by 2.2 inches. The now fully matured RB26DETT engine received a final round of enhancements, pushing torque to 289.3 ft-lb, while refinements to the chassis brought sharper control and more intuitive handling. Crowning the lineup was the limited-edition Nür, fitted with the N1-spec RB26DETT engine, marking the final evolution of the powerplant.
