About
The Audi R18 was engineered to compete in the 2016 World Endurance Championship (WEC). Its aerodynamics underwent a complete redesign, adopting a F1-inspired narrow nose with integrated wing, while the hybrid system’s regenerative energy capacity was increased from 4MJ to 6MJ. Although Audi secured 2nd place in the Constructors’ Championship, the brand made the difficult decision to withdraw from the WEC at year’s end.
