About
The second-wave NSX Type R made its debut in 2002. In addition to the original Type R’s weight-saving measures and increased rigidity, this model underwent a full aerodynamic redesign, generating remarkable levels of downforce rarely seen in a road car. Carbon fiber was employed extensively, including for key components such as the hood and rear wing. During a time attack at the Nürburgring Nordschleife, the car shattered expectations by breaking the eight-minute barrier, a feat once thought unattainable for a road car.
