About

The fifth-generation Lancer Evolution was introduced in January 1998. Developed with the World Rally Championship in mind, the body was widened and the 4G63 engine received further tuning to boost torque. The AYC system (Active Yaw Control) from the Evolution IV was retained, while new inverted dampers and a front helical LSD were added to further elevate performance and cornering ability.
