About
In 1987, Honda introduced the all-new fourth-generation Civic. It was known as the Grand Civic, with the model code EF. Its most significant advancement was a complete platform overhaul, bringing double wishbone suspension to all four corners. The sporty Si model and the more luxurious Si Extra both featured the 1.6-liter DOHC ZC inline-4 engine. These models also found success on the track, competing in the Japan Touring Car Championship and securing championship titles.
