About

Introduced in 1990, the GTO marked Mitsubishi’s return to the true sports car segment after many years. Its bold, wide-bodied styling was clearly aimed at the American market. The car packed a suite of advanced technologies for its time, including all-wheel control, 4-wheel steering, electronically controlled suspension, and active aerodynamic elements. Under the hood was a 3.0-liter V-6 engine, offered in both naturally-aspirated and twin-turbocharged forms. It was sold overseas as the 3000GT, where it gained popularity for its bold styling and aggressive performance.
