The FIAT Panda is a front-wheel-drive hatchback introduced in 1980, born amid the compact-car boom that followed the oil crises. Its design was penned by the master stylist Giorgetto Giugiaro. To keep costs low, the body was crafted with straight lines and flat panels, achieving a look that was both practical and modern. At launch, buyers could choose between an air-cooled 652 cc 2-cylinder engine or a water-cooled 903 cc 4-cylinder unit. The model featured in Gran Turismo is the former.
