About
The Aston Martin DBR9 GT1 was developed by Aston Martin Racing in 2005 for competition in the GT1 category, based on the road-going DB9. Its body was significantly lightened using carbon-fiber construction, and it was powered by a 5.9-liter V-12 engine paired with a 6-speed sequential transmission. The DBR9 made an immediate impact, winning its debut race at the 12 Hours of Sebring. It went on to secure GT1 class victories at the 24 Hours of Le Mans in both 2007 and 2008.
