About
The fifth-generation Civic Type R made its debut in 2017. While previous models focused on enhancing the base Civic’s performance, the fifth-generation Type R was developed in parallel with the standard model from the ground up. In 2020, the lineup was further refined with the introduction of the Limited Edition model. Weight was reduced by 44 lbs through the removal of soundproofing materials and the adoption of specially forged wheels. Subtle suspension tweaks were also made to sharpen handling. With only 1,000 units produced worldwide, the Limited Edition sold out almost immediately.
