About
After making hybrids mainstream with the Prius, Toyota introduced the Aqua, a smaller, more fuel-efficient hybrid. Its hybrid system was a lighter, optimized version of that used in the third-generation Prius. In JC08 fuel economy tests conducted in Japan, it reached a maximum efficiency of 83.3 MPG. Internationally, the car was marketed as the Prius C.
